A few years ago Mom and I asked grandma what she would like to do for Mother’s Day. She requested Eichen’s Chicken. If you are not familiar with this place, let me acquaint you. First, it is in Okarche, OK so about an hour drive for us to even get there. Second, it is absolutely no frills. Plates are wax paper, tables are filled on a first come first serve and the menu consists of fried chicken, fried okra, bbq sandwich, and frito pie. The floor is also covered in this blue stuff that I assume picks up the grease that gets everywhere. Third, even with all of that, as far as fried chicken is concerned it is the best. And that is what grandma wanted. The three of us went with grandma’s friend Jeannie. (If you want to learn more about Eichen’s check out the YELP reviews) It was one of the funnest meals I have ever shared with anyone! Don’t tell, but we all even had a beer 🙂
This year, grandma once again requested Eichen’s so we obliged. Only this time it was mom, grandma, Rori and Triniti. We had 4 generations of Owens women together in Okarche.
- Rori posing with GG
- Picture time for everyone!
- Rori loves to hug it out
- Me and grandma
- I think we look alike, what do you think?
- Trying to get us all in one photo.
- Better group photo, 4 generations of Owens women
- Taking pictures on the car ride home
- We take pictures to keep us all entertained
- Sending Coco funny faces. He was in the Colorado airport coming back from Canada
- Can you imagine him making faces back at us? I wonder what other passengers thought he was doing!
